Specialized therapy for Black professionals, first-generation high achievers, and couples navigating anxiety, burnout, communication challenges, emotional disconnection, and the pressure of carrying success for everyone around them.

You know the weight of being the first — first to graduate, first to build a career, first to buy a home, first to create the kind of success your family hoped for but may not have had access to themselves. From the outside, it can look like you have everything together. Internally, though, many high achievers are carrying anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, self-doubt, emotional exhaustion, and the pressure to never fall apart.
I understand that experience personally because I have lived it too.
I became a therapist to provide the kind of care I once longed to receive myself. I am not only a therapist, but also someone who deeply believes in the transformative power of therapy because I have experienced it firsthand. My own journey with anxiety, depression, and an eating disorder shaped the way I approach this work — with compassion, honesty, cultural understanding, and respect for how difficult it can be to ask for help while still functioning at a high level.
My lived experiences also include navigating marriage, divorce, single motherhood, rebuilding, and balancing the emotional demands of caregiving, work, relationships, and personal healing. Those experiences deepened my understanding of relationship stress, identity shifts, burnout, grief, resilience, and the pressure many women and caregivers carry while still trying to show up for everyone else. They also strengthened my belief that healing requires spaces where people can be fully human rather than constantly expected to simply "push through."
I know what it means to survive through hyper-independence, overachievement, emotional suppression, and code switching. I understand how success can become tied to worth and how exhausting it feels to constantly carry the role of "the strong one."
As the only Black Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level 1 trained clinician in Memphis, I bring both professional expertise and lived understanding into the therapy space. I earned my Master's in Counseling from the University of Memphis in 2020 and have spent the past six years supporting Black professionals, couples, women, femmes, trans, non-binary, and other historically marginalized clients navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, relationship stress, perfectionism, family pressure, and identity-related challenges.
My practice is rooted in the belief that minority communities deserve access to high-quality, culturally responsive mental health care that creates real emotional change — not just temporary coping. Through Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, and person-centered therapy, we explore the different parts of you that learned to survive, protect, achieve, overwork, or stay emotionally guarded. Together, we work to build healthier relationships, stronger boundaries, emotional balance, self-trust, and a life that feels more grounded and sustainable.
Therapy with me is collaborative, supportive, and centered on creating a space where you can safely unpack what you have been carrying for years without judgment or pressure to perform. Healing is not about becoming someone different. It is about reconnecting with yourself beneath the survival strategies that once kept you safe.
I see how much you carry every day. You do not have to navigate it alone. You deserve support that honors both your strength and your humanity — care that meets you where you are, not where others assume you should be because of your accomplishments.
If you're exhausted from holding it all together while anxiety, perfectionism, or relationship stress persist, you deserve support that meets you exactly where you are.
